RESURRECTION GIVING TREE - BABY SHOWER FOR JESUS During this Advent Season, as we anticipate the good news and great joy of our Savior’s birth, please express this joy with gifts for his little ones! This year, like last, instead of sponsoring specific families with our giving tree, we will be collecting items to benefit new mothers. I invite you to an Advent Baby Shower during the month of December. Items may be brought anytime during the month and left at the manger, which will be set up in the foyer. Since our gifts will be given to the Collage Center, they will be gifted all throughout the year. The items should be brought unwrapped or in a plain or baby themed gift bag. The Collage Center is a valuable resource in our community. They provide much needed reproductive services, including free ultrasounds, to women finding themselves in an unexpected situation. Items to consider gifting include diapers, wipes, onesies, baby bath towels and wash cloths, bibs, teething toys, Children’s Arch Books, and gift cards for gas/groceries to WalMart/HyVee. Larger baby equipment must be new for liability reasons. If you are able to consider a larger gift of a crib, car seat with a base, stroller, baby monitor, pack n’ play, or a bouncy chair. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea Mack 390-8857
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: If someone in the congregation suddenly collapses, becomes unconscious or unresponsive, help the person lie down and summon a Healthcare provider if possible. Check the victim’s airway and respirations. If the person is not breathing, open the airway, give 2 slow breaths. Check for signs of circulation (pulse, movement) if none detected, chest compressions should be started. Send someone to locate the AED (which is located on the wall to the left of the first set of fire doors in the Foyer) and have someone call 911. Attach the AED, following the instructions and diagram provided by the AED. Make sure the pads are directly attached to the skin, shave area if necessary using the contents of the resuscitation kit. Do not interrupt CPR while attaching the monitor pads. Turn on the AED and follow the prompts, an ECG rhythm analysis will begin immediately. If CPR is not needed you will be directed to stop CPR or no treatment advised. If defibrillation is advised, stop CPR and say “EVERYONE CLEAR!” Ensure that no one is touching the victim and then you will be directed to push the flashing treatment button-continue cycles of heart \rhythm evaluations, shocks (if advised) and CPR until EMTs arrive. Shock will be delivered up to 3 times total, which is all the batteries will allow effectively. In the event of a seizure do not attempt to restrain the victim or put anything in their mouth. Move objects away to prevent injury, loosen any clothing around their neck and move them to a safe place until the seizure subsides, allowing them to rest in a comfortable place. Notify the Pastor or Priest of the events that occurred.
