FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK:

   Christian stewardship is linked with discipleship.   Many of us know we are disciples of Jesus and, yet, there remains always a little something more for us to learn and to live.

   Discipleship inevitably is connected to call.   God is personally involved in each of our lives.   We are each called by name at Baptism to live the Good News of the Kingdom.   Each and every person, clergy, religious, lay person, married, single, adult, child receives such a call and so lives a personal vocation.   God intends the divine plan to be celebrated and to be lived in the unique role we play.

   The challenge, then, is to discover and to understand our role and our vocation.   God has truly blessed us with unique gifts and talents.   In what way does God want us to serve others in our sharing of them?   In what way can we make a difference?

   As we consider the meaning of stewardship, let us prayerfully ponder those questions.  Too often we talk ourselves out of those opportunities.   Let us talk ourselves into those opportunities, for it is God who will be with us and who will give us all we will need.

CLC NEWS:    PARENTS, REMEMBER YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPIRITUAL TRAINING OF YOUR CHILD(REN).   THIS IS A PRIVILEGE GOD HAS BLESSED YOU WITH.  ALTHOUGH AT TIMES IT MAY SEEM OVERWHELMING, REMEMBER OUR CLC PROGRAM IS HERE TO SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE YOU.   PLEASE MAKE YOUR BEST EFFORT TO GET YOUR CHILD(REN) TO MASS AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATION EACH WEEK.

   Registration for CLC classes will be August 16 & 17 and August 23 & 24 after all the Masses.   Please make every effort to register on one of those two weekends so things can be organized before the first day of class.    If for any reason you cannot register in person by August 24, please call me at 382-0976 or email me at theresestump@hotmail.com and I will get you registered.

   Cost for the CLC program is $25.00 per student with a $60.00 family maximum.    Teachers and adult aides will not be charged.    CLC times are as follows:

            WEDNESDAY EVENINGS:                 5:45 to 6:45 PM (Kindergarten – 5^th grade)

                                                                            7:00 to 8:00 PM (6^th – 8^th grades)

             SUNDAY MORNINGS:                9:30 to 10:25 AM (Preschool – 5^th grade)

   I would like to encourage parents to sign their kids up for Sunday CLC classes if you are in town most of the time on Sundays.    Class sizes are small and it would help relieve some of the crowding on Wednesday evenings.

HIGH SCHOOL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES will begin September 24^th.   Registration information will be mailed or can be obtained on-line later in August.   If you have any questions regarding the High School program, please contact Michalene Iversen 382-5639 resurrectionyd@charter.net.

IT’S DIRECTORY TIME!!   To commemorate our church’s 35^th anniversary, we will be publishing a new pictorial directory.   So many wonderful families have joined our church and added to our families, what a great tool to get to know each other!   Every family that participates gets a free 8x10 of their choice and a free directory.   No other purchase is necessary.  

   Beginning June 30^th, and every Monday thru Friday in July, families may start to reserve their photography session on-line through a link on our resurrection website, giresurrection.com.   After all the Masses on August 2 & 3 is your last change to reserve your session at the church.  You have two easy ways to sign up for your photography session.    Sessions are available August 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, and 28.   There are morning, afternoon, and evening sessions, so certainly one should fit in with your schedule.

   Our goal is 100% participation so that our directory may be complete.   Please help us and sign up today.   Any questions, please contact Laura Hurley 384-6794 or Lori Hock 381-5561.

ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION beginning with “Footprints Of God”, a Catholic bible/history study of the lives of Jesus, Mary, Peter and Paul.   This is a great opportunity to increase your understanding of your Catholic faith and the Bible.   Sessions being considered are Sunday mornings between the Masses starting at 9:40 AM two weekends a month, &/or an evening during the week 1 to 2 times a month.   Studies would include video and discussion beginning in late September.   Look for

sign-up sheets in late August.
