Church of the Resurrection

The 7 Major Themes of Catholic Social Teachings

Resurrection seeks to live the way of the Gospel as illustrated in what is traditionally known as "The 7 Pillars" of Catholic Social Teaching;

1. The Life and Dignity of the Human Person

2. The Call to Family, Community and Participation

3. Rights and Responsibilities

4. Preferential Option (Commitment) for the Poor and Vulnerable

5. The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers

6. Solidarity

7. Care for God's Creation

The community outreach of Resurrection, as well as the parish global outreach reflects this desire to live the Good News of Jesus.

Examples of community outreach include, among others, participation in:

  • local food pantries
  • aid to the homeless (Hope Harbor)
  • youth ministry involvement in Make a Difference (MAD) Camp
  • Young Neighbors In Action

Global Outreach is reflected in Mission Hope - St. Lucia, which seeks to provide healthcare ministry, facility improvements and renovation to the people of the Southern Caribbean.
